(Now that Allison and Jesse’s wedding has been published on Oh Lovely Day (click here to see it!) and now that the holiday craziness is over, I can finally spread their love on my blog!!!! I have been waiting to share this incredible wedding!!!
Watching Allison and Jesse joyfully holding hands in a swinging kind of way as they headed towards me to shoot their engagement pictures (click here to see!) I knew I was in a for a great wedding. When a couple is oozing with love like Allison and Jesse, photographs come very easily- they just can’t help but reveal their love and affection for one another! The fun started with the invitation!
Let’s just talk about THAT dress!!! It could honestly be considered a work of art, a sculpture. It was beautiful AND unique AND interesting AND fun!
What’s those peeping out? Yes, the dress had a little healthy competition! The shoes were AMAZING!!
Allison was not the only one with unique little details, Jesse had these super-cool Batman cufflinks!
I think Allison looks like a movie star in this picture!
Guys getting ready, so sweet, so different than girls getting ready- there tends to be a bit more confusion in the faces and body language- perhaps tuxes are difficult to assemble?
Allison had this great idea of me photographing her running shoes with her wedding shoes! I added to it her slippers… a day in the life of Allison’s shoes on her wedding day! By the way, Allison just completed the New York City Marathon and raised over $8,000.00 for cancer research! Go Allison!
Allison said she wanted something she could twirl in and twirl she did all day! And dip and swing and raise her arms to the sky with the purest most joyful happiness I have ever seen a bride display!
Allison’s beautiful bridesmaids lined up to showcase their awesome gifts from Allison- the bags were personalized by Monograms Off Madison and inside were a pair of Toms shoes that were sparkly enough to be worn later that day with their dress! A girl can only sport those heels for so long! For those of you that may not know, Toms Shoes donates a pair of shoes to a child for every pair bought! 6 happy bridesmaids = 6 happy deserving children! Great idea!
Off to the church. Allison and Jesse had a brilliant idea of turning their wedding programs into fans- July summer in New York- smart!
Oh I love this photograph that Greg captured. Mom and Dad look down on Allison, their little girl, now a bride as they prepare to walk her down the aisle!
Mom and Dad accompanying the radiant bride!
Sneak peeks!
This priest had everyone’s attention!!!
This particular church had some pretty strict rules about photography. One of them was no flash but the other was the cut off point as to where I could photograph. This made things a little tricky but hey, I love a good challenge. So I did some exploring and found this side alley with beautiful old-fashioned windows that gave me this unique view point! Sometimes rules force you to think a little differently and the results are worth it!
HANDS DOWN THE BEST WEDDING KISS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVER!!!
Yayyyyyyyyyyy! Talk about happily married!!!!
And they left the church with “bells on!”
Presenting the Mr. & Mrs!!
Allison and Jesse and myself jumped into an old-fashioned cab. These two were all smiles and gooey eyes for each other!
Outside their quaint home on a gorgeous brownstone tree-lined street in Brooklyn!
Classic New York shot- love it!
Allison and Jesse had one of the nicest and most cooperative bridal parties ever! They also had a groomsman, the first to the right of Jesse in this picture, that had an amazing booming and authoritative voice that was helping me out! He would say, “Ok so what do you want us all to do?” then I would tell him and he would belt it out! Every photographer needs a groomsman such as this!!! THANK YOU!!!
The flowers were stunning, they were created by my favorite wedding florist Kea Morgan of Sweet and Flower.
Photo candy all around- the dress and the shoes- now add late afternoon sunlight creating the coolest shadows!!!!!
Dumbo is a large artist colony in NYC and there is an amazing wall mural created by Craig Anthony Miller aka Cam. Not only did it make for a sensational backdrop for wedding portraits but this artist also created art work for Allison and Jesse’s venue, Rebar, so it had some added symbolism.
Inside Rebar!
Rebar had served up classic appetizers like sliders and mac and cheese but presented in a way that was wedding reception appropriate- everyone loved the food!
The speech from Allison’s maid of honor was so endearing and heartfelt.
Jesse’s sister was up next and told the story behind Jesse’s childhood nickname- notice the body lanague of Jesse- hand on hip- just waiting for when this speech was going to really embarrass him.
But Samantha kept it funny and then changed gears and spoke from her heart.
I love Allison’s body language here watching Jesse and Samantha hug- so adorable!
First dance!
Allison gathered around with her Georgetown friends and sang the school’s fight song.
Following a wedding custom, people gathered on the roof top of Rebar for a toast. The sun was setting behind the bridge and everything was just perfect!
Jesse brings out his inner 007 and hams it up for the camera! The gorgeous Allison looks perfect for her femme fatale part!
Every time I look at this image I smile- their happiness is so contagious!
Allison and Jesse, in many ways you made our jobs so easy. Your thoughtful and lovely friends and family, your unique wedding day details that incorporated your personalities and this incredible city, but mostly your abundant love for each other and your willingness to show your love for each other to all!
We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
What a beautiful wedding. And I’m sitting here crying. Your words are as beautiful as your photos.
Sissy thank you so much!!!! That is so kind of you to say!
YOU ARE MY FAVORITE PHOTOGRAPHER! These shots are so amazing! You are just terrific!
Thank you Kea! Love all around!
Lovin’ the shots, vibrant colors! I wish I could have been there. No words to express the beauty.
