I can’t stop smiling when I look at this picture of this little girl and her parents! I can hear her delighted giggle as her Dad tosses her up in the air!
We all know that 2 and 3-year-olds often have a mind of their own. Often parents tell me they are nervous about how the child will behave on a photoshoot.
The idea of behaving is a lot of pressure for everyone. Try to think of a photoshoot as a time to play and engage with your child. You just happen to be wearing cute clothes in a pretty place. Then there will be me acting like paparazzi taking pictures all around you! It’s like being a celebrity for a little bit!
If there is a chance to take pictures with everyone looking at the camera and smiling- great! But the main goal is to take pictures of you as a family that help you remember life on a day that playing, giggling and loving was the goal.
So yes, can photoshoots be easier when the kids are older? Maybe. But good luck throwing your 8-year-old in the air! Haha!
There really isn’t the perfect age for photoshoots-all ages have their milestones and that’s what’s so cool about documenting your family every year!

Did you know that October is Down Syndrome Awareness month? This movement was created to celebrate the abilities of those with Down Syndrome. I can tell you from working with Gigi and many other children and adults with Down Syndrome that their abilities shine bright- as do their big hearts and contagious giggles!
