Twenty Mile House Wedding Photography
Katherine and Greg got married on a beautiful day surrounded by friends and family at the Twenty Mike House, one of the most quaint venues I have ever been to! This converted trading post from 1854 specializes in ecologically-minded green weddings. Everything was perfectly organized and decorated by the amazing team of wedding planners at Something Blue.
The invitations that matched the theme of the wedding so creatively were created by inoroutmedia on Etsy.I loved Katherine’s Casablanca dress, it made her look like a princess, a woodland princess!
Katherine’s hair and makeup was done by DanaeMarie’s Salon and Boutique in Grass Valley.Katherine got ready in one of the Twenty Mile House’s cabins. Katherine not only was ready on time but a few minutes early, allowing us some time to go outside and take some pictures! Gah, what a stunning bride!Sister LOVE!!Meanwhile on the other side of the property the boys got ready in the main house. After lots of laughing and video game chatter it was time for Greg to get ready for his first look with Katherine. The first look took place on the rail road tracks that run along the property. LOVE this picture! Greg’s reaction to Katherine was AMAZING!!What a handsome couple these two make! And of course they are as sweet as can be too! After taking some portraits, it was time for Katherine’s Dad to get a chance to see his little girl as a bride! So sweet!Katherine was then tucked away as guests started to arrive for the ceremony.
Such a nice touch to line the aisle with pine cones! The dashing groom! The bridal party! The ring bearers! Chewie, Katherine and and Greg’s puppy held the rings on a pillow on his back! The flower girls!Katherine’s Mom!The gorgeous bride escorted by her proud dad!
What an amazing location to get married! Both Moms were busy recording memories!Married! We headed back to the train tracks with the bridal party and after I lined them all up, the tracks started to vibrate and sent the crew running! Then Greg told me that the train runs for 10 minutes….…so why not use it as a backdrop! The lovely ladies! The handsome men and Chewie too! When you’re that cute you get your own portrait! What a lucky photographer I was! The timeline of the wedding day had pockets of time that I could have with the just the couple alone to capture their love and excitement on their wedding day!
The Twenty Mile House property offers so much within such a short distance! From the woods, to the train tracks, rustic structures, gardens to this beautiful little river, which soon after this image I fell into!
Katherine and Greg’s wedding seemed like the perfect wedding to dust off the old Rolleiflex and take an old school portrait!
Back at the main house, everything was ready for the guests to arrive and be delighted in all the beauty of this wedding! From unique flowers and table arrangements, thank you gifts, cameras with an eye spy game to keep everyone clicking away, a photo guest book station and a beautiful old window pane with seat arrangements!
The amazingly talented Greg Chambers Band performed for the cocktail hour delighting everyone!Futre photographer in the making?
Honestly, how cute are these cowboy boot wearing flower girls in their ruffle dresses?!?! The cutest! Dresses created by EverythingRuffles on Etsy.Loved this ring pillow by birdandwhale on Etsy!Greg’s homemade beer was on the tap for everyone to enjoy! All the flowers for the wedding were just amazing, created by Gray’s Flower Garden in Quincy!! I adored Katherine’s bouquet beautifully wrapped in lace.As Katherine and Greg waited to be announced into their wedding, they were basked in gorgeous light and with such genuine smiles, a double gift from the photo gods! The bridal party! The general store was adorable, filled with unique items and antiques. The best, funniest and nicest Uncle Bobs ever! Uncle Bob is a term wedding photographers use to describe the guests that have cameras too!It was time for the toasts to start and family and friends spoke from the heart about their love and affection for the newlyweds! Then lastly, Katherine and Greg spoke, thanking everyone for their support and coming to the wedding!Katherine and Greg had their first dance that was slow and very romantic.
Bubbles were blown to fill the air!
And just when you LEAST expected it, the couple broke out into Gangnam Style, bringing the crowd to laughter!!Friends joined them for the fun!Katherine then danced with her Dad.Greg then danced with his Mother…
…while Greg’s Dad watched with Chewie!Well that didn’t last long, as Dad came and stole Mom away for a dance too!
Family Portrait! The wedding cake, created by Traci’s Sweet Surprises, was so beautiful with it’s hand paint decorations and touches of lace.Loved their Totoro Cake Topper! It was time to dance and everyone, even the little ones were having such a good time with the music played by DJ Todd Reasor.Bouquet and Garter toss! The lucky ones! The sun quickly set behind the mountains and evening set in meaning it was time to enjoy the romance of the twinkling lights! Love those twinkling lights! The dance floor was packed well into the night with everyone having such an incredible time!Smooshed by their friends!
This dynamic duo is also very talented on all air instruments!Katherine and Greg, you two are amazing!! Your wedding was one that will be fondly remembered by all! Thank you for the honor!
