Umm, where did January go? Because that was going to be my month after the holidays dedicated to do all the things that I meant to do before the holidays… such as some serious blogging. Is it really February?
Well since we are in the month of love, let’s start off with some of that intended blogging with a Trash the Dress One More Time session. Yes, I hate the term Trash the Dress, why trash it- (heavy sarcasm coming) your daughter is going to wear it one day, right? I like to call it One More Time sessions because really that is all it is. The dress stays fine, it’s just an opportunity to get all fancied up again and take some pictures in a more relaxed way than you were able to do on your wedding day!
Liz and Ricky’s wedding was an amazing whirlwind of events that started in Queens and ended at the South Street Seaport in Manhattan. Click here to see their wedding blog post. Though we did have enough time, thankfully due to very little traffic, to take portraits on the actual wedding day, we didn’t have enough time to head to Central Park. Liz and Ricky LOVEEEE Central Park and had made up their minds even before their wedding to do a One More Time session a few days after their wedding.
Liz and Ricky had this really fun idea that they wanted an image where they were just part of the scene at the Mall and not the center of attention! I think it is so great when my clients share with me some of their ideas too!
And then I love when they are totally game for some of my ideas… such as jumping the fence and taking pictures on the other side of the Mall! Liz had no problem hiking up her dress and scaling over a small fence- Ricky was there to help her, he is a Fireman after all!
This image reminds me of a fairy tale. These two look so perfect in the morning light with the trees arching above them. Thank you Liz and Ricky for jumping that fence and being the subjects of what might be one of my favorite images of 2011! I’m such a sucker for the kissing shots!
Happily 4 days married!
For those of you that might not understand this picture, Liz and Ricky are using American Sign Language to sign “I Love You”. This is a picture of their shadows.
We headed up to my secret nook. The sun was shining, the trees were holding on to their last leaves with their brilliant fall colors and the city stood gallantly on the horizon.
As pretty as those colors all are, I love how different a photograph becomes in black and white.
Liz and Ricky, spending the morning with you in the glorious Central Park was so much fun for us!!! Thank you!!
