Rachel & Tims’ Piedmont Community Hall Spring wedding in Oakland is one that will forever be remembered by all who attended! It was a true family event filled with so much love and laughter!
Their wedding was also unique, in my 12+ years in photographing weddings I have never seen a band lead everyone to the cocktail hour! How cool is that?! What a fun and festive way to get the party started! And did I mention fancy candy apples? Not just candy apples but FULL on like you have never seen before candy apples!
Let’s not stop there- Tim chose the location of the honeymoon all by himself. Rachel had no idea and guess how she found out? During the reception, Rachel’s friends stood up and gave a clue as to the honeymoon location. Rachel had to solve the riddles til she found the friend with the answer!
(Be sure to take a look at the bottom of this blog post to see all the vendors that made this wedding come together so perfectly!)
Springtime at the Piedmont Community Hall is perfection! This venue is a wedding photographers DREAM!!!
One of the great things about this venue is that the outside space is beautiful but in case of rain if the party needs to be moved indoors the inside space is lovely too! And don’t forget that Japanese Tea House in the first picture- what a great place for the bride to get ready!
Yep! Those are the fancy apples! They didn’t just stop there though- they had a whole table full of yumminess- and wedding cake too!
Such a stunning wedding cake, so elegant.
Every wedding has a “thing” that happens. Rachel’s was her veil, it was left at the hotel and someone had to run back for it. In the meantime, we took advantage and got some fun portraits of the bride with her family! And for future brides- when the “thing” happens on your wedding day- just smile, it will all get sorted out!
I love this picture so much, the veil arrived and the flower girl and bridesmaids came running with it!
Meanwhile, Tim got some time with his son and Rachel’s son too right before the wedding.
I’m not sure I have ever seen a cuter flower girl!!!
The outdoor reception space at the Piedmont Community Hall has a set of stairs that makes for a dramatic entrance for the bride!
Rachel looking stunning- escorted by her proud brother.
That’s one happy groom!
Look at that wedding venue! Surrounded by your family, friends and gorgeous nature! So so dramatic!
Laughter and happy tears! The best!
Rachel and her son and Tim and his son lit a unity candle to represent their new family unit.
Kiss that gorgeous bride!!!
Married!
Here comes the marching band!
Such an awesome way to enter into your marriage!!!! Everyone was smiling, laughing and dancing to the beat!
While the guests went off to cocktail hour, Rachel and Tim had some alone time amongst the gorgeous gardens at the venue.
Bouquet perfection!
The sun set fast behind the hills and set the mood for a romantic dinner under the twinkly lights.
Rachel solves the riddles to discover her honeymoon location!
Time for toasts!
At the beginning of the dancing part of the reception, Rachel was circled by her sorority sisters and sang too, it was so special.
Then it was time for Rachel and Tim to have their first dance.
And all that sugar on those pretty apples and desserts? Well, it sure helped get the party started!
Rachel and Tim, wishing you a wonderful marriage and I know it will be filled with so much laughter and love!
