I absolutely love January. Â A clean slate to start all over again but also a wonderful time for reflection on the past year. Looking back on the wedding day stories of 2015 weddings, I was struck by how lucky I am to be a photographer. Being a photographer has allowed me to receive an invitation to some of life’s most joyous moments! Â I sat with a hot cup of tea on a rainy (finally) January day here in Santa Cruz laughing, smiling, tearing up and feeling an incredible amount of gratitude as I collected images for this blog post.
Oh 2015 what a whirlwind of an adventure you were! 2015 started off at midnight as we continued to photograph the festive New Year’s Eve wedding at MacArthur Park then on to the glorious vineyards of Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley to the quaint Japanese tea house at the Piedmont Community Hall to the historic Temple Emanu-El in San Francisco to the super cool Ralston White Retreat secluded in the magnificent Redwoods in Mill Valley to the storybook setting of Elliston Vineyards in the Sunol to the mountains of Santa Cruz at Pema Osel Ling to the seaside treasure in Half Moon Bay the Oceano Hotel to the quaint winery of Testarossa to a couple of our favorite locations minutes from our house Seascape Resort , Sand Rock Farm Bed and Breakfast and Pajaro Dunes to the excitement of being the first photographer to have the privilege to photograph at the new Meadow Location at The Mountain Winery!
We were honored to document a now finally legal same sex marriage, a wedding incorporating a bride’s Japanese culture, a Hindu wedding with all its ceremonies and of course colors,  the marriage of a Rabi to a Cantor and the many ceremonies involved with a Jewish wedding, we saw couples who created their own unique ceremonies to represent their beliefs, a New Year’s Eve wedding with a big balloon drop at midnight, a romantic elopement, we saw a beautiful Catholic wedding in one of the most historically famous Catholic churches- the Carmel Mission  and we witnessed an abundance of love, LoVe and more LOVEEEEEE! Did I mention also super cool invitations, pretty shoes, gorgeous dresses and all sorts of dancing fun!?
A BIG thank you to all our clients who are so kind, creative and fun for allowing us the great honor of helping you to tell your wedding day stories for years and years to come!  Also thank you to all the other vendors whose work comes together to makes the weddings such a pleasure to photograph!
Cheers to 2015! Â It certainly was a great one, we hope it was for you too!
2016, we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us! So far we will be back at the beautiful Arista Winery, at the charming Pelican Inn in Mill Valley, that makes you feel like you have been transported to England, Nevada City for what we hope is a snowy wedding and back East to photograph the 4th wedding of the McCabe family- one of my favorite families to photograph! Â How exciting it will be to see the other past 3 siblings who have been our clients and now meet their children!
