In Memory of Braun Levi- LIVE LIKE BRAUN

A picture of a mom, dad and daughter with their arms around each other on the beach at their son's paddle out memorial.

It was a photograph I never thought I would takof my friend Jenny.

A mother, a father, a sister—holding each other through the unimaginable. Their beautiful son and brother, 18 year old Braun Levi, was senselessly killed by a drunk driver while walking across the road.
Their hearts are filled with a sorrow so deep it could only exist where there is immeasurable love.

You cry not just for their loss, but for the depth of it.
You ache, witnessing someone you love break in a way you can’t fix.
You feel helpless, knowing no words will ever be enough.

What I learned this weekend, at all of Braun’s Celebrations of Life, is that many moments can hold more than one truth at the same time.

There was crying while laughing.
Rejoicing one second and aching the next.
Grief and joy. Love and pain.
All while remembering a young man who touched so many lives.

Yes, they are heartbroken—but they are surrounded.
By family. By friends.
By stories. By laughter.
By singing.
By a love so steady, it radiates.

To bear witness was an absolute heartbreak—and also an honor.
Braun lived more in his short life than many live in a lifetime.

May his memory be a blessing.

And may we all now Live Like Braun.
