Looking back on the beautiful weddings of 2012!

2012 was good to us, it was a year we will always remember!  Our dream of moving to California and working on both the left and right coasts came true!

We were so honored to be part of so many beautiful and different weddings days, from a movie studio in Brooklyn to a wedding planned in days to ensure a sick family member could be there for it to a seaside ceremony in San Diego.

It’s always so interesting to reflect on a year’s worth of work and then also look back on the work throughout the previous years. When I first started photographing weddings I thought I understood how a bride would feel on her wedding day just by being female as well. When I look back on what I knew then, I laugh a little- but that’s part of life, part of learning! When Greg and I got engaged we thought we understood weddings more because we learned firsthand the hard work that goes into planning one!! Once we got married, Greg and I both felt even more motivated as we knew from our own experience how precious the photographs are since the day goes by in what seems like a nanosecond!  We always work so hard to capture EVERYTHING so our clients can recall their wedding day more easily by looking at their photographs.  Then we had our son Jax and we changed as people and that certainly made us change as photographers.  It’s hard to exactly put my finger on it but I feel I became more aware of the value of relationships. Everyone in my eyes was no longer just a person but someone’s child. It doesn’t matter if a groom is 36, 24, or 53- he is still someone’s child and images of them on their wedding day we know will be greatly cherished. Basically we have become BIG mushes when it comes to a wedding day!!  We strive to capture it all for our clients- from the smiles that turn into tears of joy, to the beautiful details such as a bride holding her Grandmother’s prayer book, to wild dance moves that can only come from the pure happiness of celebrating a marriage!

In this collection you will see some of our favorite photographs from the weddings of 2012- the moments captured between people, the details, the hands I’m obsessed with photographing, the BIG hugs, the loving kisses, the children and of course… the celebration!

Thank you to all of our 2012 brides, grooms and families that allowed us the privilege to be there to capture your wedding day memories! We hope 2012 was wonderful for you as well and that 2013 will be even greater!
