When I arrived at Maureen’s parents’ home, the home she grew up in, it was perfectly decorated for the big wedding day! There was so much excitement in the air as Mom, Dad and the bridesmaids buzzed around the house!
Maureen’s dress was hung in her childhood bedroom. There is just something about a bride getting ready in a room that has so much history to her! I wonder how many times in that room she may have dreamed about getting married one day and now here it is, her wedding day, with her gorgeous dress hanging in her window.
Maureen’s Mom and her bridesmaids carefully did all those little buttons!
Ready! It was now time to go down and see her Dad who was patiently awaiting seeing his little girl as a bride!
It’s being able to witness bonds such as this that make me love being a wedding photographer.
Maureen came outside and was greeted by the neighborhood!
Men getting ready, it’s a funny thing. They do their hair in minutes, they stumble over ties and cufflinks and then they get hours to enjoy sports, a few drinks and male camaraderie! I do believe that they have it slightly easier on a wedding day!
That’s one happy soon-to-be married man!
The magnificent St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre New York.
The sound of bagpipes filled the air, such a great wedding day tradition!
Maureen and her Dad arrived at the church and waited for her bridesmaids to make their way into the church and of course triple check that Sean was not nearby!
All smiles as she is greeted at the church doors by her brother!
The lovely moms are escorted down the aisle.
Maureen is escorted down the aisle by her father.
How adorable are these two stealing glances at each other!
Maureen and Sean exchange wedding vows.
Then rings.
Then the big moment!
Since this was a wedding ceremony and also a mass, the couple was asked to be seated again. Love it! Checking out the new jewelry!
Mr. and Mrs. Lampman!
To the sounds of bagpipes and the cheers of their family and friends, the newlyweds exited the church with beaming smiles!
Showing the ring off!
The reception was at the The Royalton in Roslyn New York. Although it was quite chilly, the foliage still had touches of fall in the air for beautiful outdoor portraits.
The inside was wonderfully set up to welcome guests. I really enjoyed seeing all the framed photographs, not only of Maureen and Sean, but also of their family members.
The amazing bridal party!!
The reception room was decorated beautifully, everything was so elegant.
The newlyweds were announced into the reception for their first dance and their happiness was contagious!
Both Maureen and Sean’s fathers thanked everyone for joining them on this magnificent occasion!
Followed by Maureen’s childhood best friend who told such a sweet story of their childhood together and how it has grown into a lasting friendship. She was also an amazing maid of honor and was so helpful to me and others throughout the day! Thank you!!
Sean didn’t have one best man, he had two. And well he was kind of asking for a double roast which is just what he got! But all in good fun and with love!
Round two!
Trays of colorful drinks were sent out to get the celebration going!
I love seeing the moms having so much fun together!
Being a small business owner that operates solely on word-of-mouth marketing, I’m always so honored when past clients refer me. It’s so much fun to see past brides and grooms at weddings and also some of their parents! This handsome couple is one of my 2012 bride’s parents!
Time to cut that beautiful cake!
While I’m sure his guy friends were hoping for a cake smash, Sean kept it cute by only putting some crumbs on Maureen’s nose!
Maureen shared a dance with her Dad!
And Sean with his Mom. I adore that look on her face, so much love!
The band then left the stage and moved right onto the dance floor getting everyone off their seats again!
Maureen joined in the fun as well!
Everyone was having such an incredible time when everything was brought to a whole new level…
A tradition amongst a bunch of their friends… secretly behind the scenes napkins were being tied together to form a big jump rope! Maureen, you are one skilled jumper!!!!
And Sean… well, maybe Maureen has had more practice than you 😉
Conveniently the rope then converted for some Limbo too!
Take that boys!
And we left them joking around, laughing and having a ton of fun, just as it should be! Here’s to a lifetime of that! Maureen and Sean, thank you so much for having us, it was a huge honor to document your wedding day!
I’d like to thank BJ Enright for helping me by second shoot this wedding!
