Erin and Jason, a love story so sweet! After only being together for 9 months, Jason proposed to Erin and 3 months later they got married, exactly after one year of being together! When you know- you know!
Erin found me through a co-worker/ friend back East. Erin had moved to California and her friend was a past bride of mine and knew that we had moved west as well. Erin contacted me and surprise surprise- we lived very close to each other! We happily started discussing their California wedding when suddenly there was a change of plan. The wedding was now going to be held back East in Connecticut.! It just so happened that I was also going to be back East at this time and I was able to fit their now East coast wedding into my travel schedule! It felt like it was meant to be and I am beyond thrilled that it worked out! Erin and Jason are so adorable and kind and their wedding was so creative and quaint. It was an amazing way to end my 2013 wedding season!
Erin’s dress from Trudy’s Bridal fit her like the designer made it specifically for her! It was so elegant and classic and unlike any dress I had ever seen before! Erin told me that there would be clothes lines later involved at the reception so the clothes line outside become the perfect place to hang the dress! Oh and those buttons…. those TONS of tiny little buttons- REAL buttons that had to be done one by one!
Erin is helped by her cousin, her Aunt and her friend!
Off to the beautiful church on a stunning blue sky day! Considering how the weather has been back East this year- they really lucked out!! They deserved it!
Here’s the handsome groom waiting to serenade his bride down the aisle. Jason playing the guitar was a surprise to Erin! And what a romantic surprise that was!
Erin is helped into the church by all her adorable little flowers girls and ring bearers!
Here’s that moment- that split second moment when Erin walks in and sees and hears Jason serenading her!!!!
Tears! Look at Jason’s face! That is one happy man seeing Erin as his bride!
Erin and Jason recite their vows.
Family and friends looked on full of smiles and lumps in their throats!
One of the youngest was monitoring me, making sure I was capturing the key moments!
MARRIED!!!!!!!!!! Love that he carried her out!!!!
Where Erin and Jason headed next may come as a surprise to you. Jason showed Erin qualities every woman wants in a husband when he suggested on the way to the reception that they visit the graves of Erin’s Mom and Dad. Erin had gotten a small bouquet for her Mom and a boutonniere for her Dad to represent them at the ceremony and they left those flowers with them at their grave site. It was an extremely touching moment that I was so honored to have documented. I know that Erin’s parents were smiling down on them; so brightly on their daughter as a bride and their new son-in-law!
Chasing the falling late fall light, we headed on to the reception at the gorgeous Winvian Resort where the reception was being held to take some photographs!
Erin and Jason were EASY to photograph, they just simply stared and smiled at each other the whole time!
What a magnificent house the Winvian is! Stone walls… gah, photo heaven for me!
The beautiful flowers were created by Flore in Woodbury CT.
Croquet anyone?
Although the day called for some rain, it was beautiful! But since there had been some rain Erin sported her Hunter boots for walking around the grounds!! Lovveeeeeee!!
Honestly, these two are adorable!
And these two!
And this crew! I love this, the newlyweds with their sweet little wedding party!!
Erin gives a little snuggle to her new nephew!
The space at the Winvian was perfect for this intimate wedding. The room was so quaint and I loved how the tables were set up so beautifully.
Love these creative little table signs!
Smores as little favors- yes please!
Off to the side was a table that perfectly held their wedding cake brought in from The Little Cupcake Bakeshop in NYC! Erin had told me that she had always secretly judged wedding cakes at weddings she had attended and wanted to make sure hers was delicious- even if that meant having a friend bring it up from NYC!
Erin and Jason made all the decorations together! Jason even did the calligraphy!
They created this sign with miniature clothes lines and clips for their guests to leave them well wishes! What an amazing idea!!
Their parents’ wedding pictures!
Ahhhh, the rings!! Lots of them and such a beautiful story! Ready for some romance? Let me let Erin tell you the story!
“One night in August… (just shy of nine months together)
We were laying in bed before my night shift and I felt so comfortable in his arms that I had said I could do this for the rest of my life. He started saying all of these romantic and kind things, and I still remember how I felt the moment he paused and then asked me to marry him. I thought maybe he was joking but I could feel his heart beating so hard and then I knew he was serious. After I said yes, he got up and said he knew he had some string somewhere and strung together some rope 😉 I truly went into work that night with this huge piece of rope on my finger. The next day, he brought me an actual piece of string braided together (well he made three sizes I think just in case… the ball of string didn’t have a manual on engagement rings lol. Later that same day, he sat me down and said he knew the proposal wasn’t traditional, so if I wanted traditional, he would do that. But I also had some thoughts about tradition, and even though I was over the moon about my string ring, there is just something about a diamond in our culture that is fun for a bride, so since my parents and all of my grandparents are deceased and I had all of this jewelry, one piece in particular from my grandmother that I adored, I told him if he wanted to size that ring for me, I would love to have my family of origin and him as my new family with that ring. So he took it, got it sized, and a week later while we were taking a walk on the beach, he got down on one knee. I love both rings, both original in their own ways and both give me the sentiment of family, which is what marriage and love are to Jason and I.”
The night had set and the fun was under way! The guests enjoyed cocktail hour and all the games that Winvian has there to play with!
Their wedding date in pool balls….11/18/2013!
Busy little artist at work making art for Erin and Jason!

Beautiful work, as always! The proposal story was SO sweet!
Erin, You look so beautiful. I am so happy that you liked your flowers, it was a pleasure designing them for you. I had fun switching them all up so everyone has something different and special, just for them. I will be thinking of you always. You deserve to have a fairy tail ending with your Prince.
Luv ya
Amy
