Throwback Thursdays!

In honor of Mothers Day approaching, I will dedicate this weeks Throwback Thursday! to my Mom!  This is a picture of her that was taken at the end of World War 2. You can see by the handwritten description, that I will assume my Grandmother wrote,  that my Mom was wearing her Victory Dress.  I think it is so interesting how the end of the war was celebrated with a new dress and a trip to the photography studio.  How amazing is this hand colored black and white photograph? Love it! My Mom  tells me that my Grandmother hand colored it herself!

I have been a Mom for 2 weeks exactly today!  I am in awe of the role and how much goes into it. Thank you Mom for all the hard work you did for the 5 of us while growing up and even today!

Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms out there!!!

Thank you Susie for making me a “Thursday Throwback”, this is throwing back many, many years but his time no wrinkles to show!!! My Mother hand painted this photograph and sent it to my Father who was recovering from TB in a sanatorium in the mountains of Switzerland. We did not see him for 18 months, very hard times post World War 2 in England.

LOVE IT and, yes, thanks Mrs. D – not only for all your hard work in raising 5 kids but for putting up with all the rest of us kids that were constantly in and out of your house. 🙂 That picture is certainly a treasure! Happy Mother’s Day to both of you!!! 🙂
